What do you think of the baby name Shyla?

Curious to know what you picture when you hear it; ie what a little girl with the name would look like, what her personality may be, etc. Thanks in advance for your input!

What do you think of the baby name Shyla?
Reminds me of a smart girl being shy, curious and full of energy.
Reply:sounds like a female form of Shylock, the villain in " The Merchant of Venice".
Reply:Its not a strong name for a girl I think. Its certainly cute and pretty but for me a name has to have strength and character as well as cuteness.





Keep in mind that she has to use that name forever and you want something she can be proud to say out loud when she introduces herself. If you think that name has that then go for it. Its certainly not a bad name but I just picture something a little airy-fairy with that name.

I picture Shyla as one of those little kids screaming in Wal-Mart, a little dirty and poorly clothed. She's none too bright, and probably not headed for college, much less the Ivy Leagues.
Reply:Honestly, it sounds like a valley girl name to me. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but that's my take on it. Good luck picking a name!

Reply:Shyla......eh, not my style. I know a girl who named her daughter that, and lets just say the association is not a good one. I LOVE the name Shiloh though. Or even Sheila is nice.

Reply:I love the name Shyla! I went to high school with a girl named Shyla and she's a great person. She's very sweet and athletic. She was the best swimmer on the swimteam, very competitive. She always made the straight A honor roll. She's the girl next door. Everyone loves Shyla. :)
