I'm getting a tattoo of my new babies name.?

Would it be weird to put the baby's date of birth? or should I put just there name?

i'm a tattoo artist and in my shop we think it's bad luck to put the birth date because you never want it to have an end date. but if it's important to you i would put the date because it is no ones tattoo but your own. you might want to consider putting an image with the name instead, something that represents the love you feel.
Reply:wouldn't it kinda look like it was an "in memory" tattoo of someone who has passed on? It seems like those have dates on them - but it's your tattoo and your kid so who cares what other people think.
Reply:I would put the birth date. I plan on doing this when I am done having kids. My son was born in 2004 (will be 3 on Friday) and last year, the day after my son's 2nd birthday, my husband and I lost a baby girl at 21 weeks and I want a tattoo with her name too. If you are breastfeeding I would wait until you are done, just in case you get an infection, even though the risk is low, it isn't worth it.

Reply:Instead of just the name, why not the tiny foot prints as well? My sis has it and it's cool. name first over the actual footprints with the date under.
Reply:how funny...i was thinking the same thing that i want to have tattoo with my son too.. im still thinking what should i get.. maybe little odd if u put date?.. if u dont feel odd then go for it.. for me little odd.. but if you like it u do what u want... it's your tattoo..
Reply:I am planning on getting my son's name and birth date around my wrist in a very elaborate script. My boyfriend is going to get his foot print and birth date tattooed as well.
Reply:I don't think it would be wierd, you may want to explain where you are getting it and how big it is so people can give a better opinion. But no, not tacky at all in my opinion! Congrats on the baby!
