What do you think of the baby name Rowan?

For a boy? I think it's masculine, but I've heard it used as a girls name too. That doesn't necessarily turn me off, because all male names are being used for girls.

Anyway, what do you guys think? A baby boy named Rowan?

What do you think of the baby name Rowan?
it's pretty different, but really doesnt sound that good. not to be rude or anything(: that's just how i think it is. i feel like it doesn't have a nice ring to it.
Reply:Do you know the scene in the movie Tommy Boy? It sounds like when Chris Farley is high on the gas from the trunk and he is trying to say Roads. Or it brings to mind Hotel Rowanda, which I never seen. Maybe if that movie is dear to your heart I would name your child Rowan.
Reply:Because I've only heard the name Rowan on girls, I think it's a girls name and I love it FOR GIRLS ONLY. It is a strong name for a girl but I just know it as a girl name.
Reply:I like it it is unusual and I think very masculine I do not approve of it as a name for a girl. to me it is one that just does not cross the gender line
Reply:I love it for a girl, but it's feminine for a boy. That's cuz rowan is a tree, and I associate tree/nature names, like Willow, with girls.
Reply:I think Rowan is a beautiful name! Rowan reminds me of nature and good things. A boy named Rowan would be very, very cool.

But it's up to you really, It's your kid- not Yahoo Answers. (:
Reply:I've never known a girl named Rowan but know two boys - a guy I went to school with, and a friend's year old son. I think it's a great name

I find it too masculine for a girl
