What is the baby name you dislike but seems to be popular with everyone else?

E.g. I know a lot of people don't like the name Alyssa/Alissa %26amp; it is popular - but where I'm from I have never met an Alissa in my life.

What is one of the names you aren't particularly fond of and why?

What is the baby name you dislike but seems to be popular with everyone else?
Actually, it isn't any name in particular. Rather, I have difficulty with common names spelled uncommonly. One I saw lately was "Jackson" spelled "Jaxsyn".

I'm all for creativity, and I'm sure that those kids will love their names, but I have this feeling that they'll be forever spelling their names out.

... and good luck finding personalized keychains off-the-rack ... :)
Reply:Wow that makes me sad you know a lot of people that don't like that name because that is my name! I think some people just don't like the name because it is hard for them to pronounce. Believe it or not I have met so many who can't pronounce it properly and it is so easy too!

I don't like extremely popular names for naming my kids or the weird names the celebrities are naming their kids, like Jessica Alba naming her kid Honor. That is just weird....
Reply:I dislike Isabella, just because it is so popular. It is my niece's name...but I still dislike it. My son's name is Braden and I keep hearing about how trendy it is...it must not have reached my area yet because I have never met another Braden and everytime I tell someone my son's name they say, wow, how unique, or I've never heard that before of something to that effect. Oh well, I like it!
Reply:I don't like the name Olivia!

Okay, I love the name and adore my daughter. But people, stop naming your girls Olivia! I meet an Olivia on a daily basis =(

I like the name Brayden, my neighbor's name is Brayden. I don't like Liam, too many of those popping up around here, too.

=)
Reply:Ava

Kaitlyn (and the other spellings)

I dont know why i dont like them, I just dont. My second daughters name will be Katy and im constantly being told to name her Kaitlyn and shorten it to Katy, i guess im just sick of the name!

ps: Alissa's a beautiful name!
Reply:i dont like logan, nevaeh, matthew, elizabeth, amy

theyre all awful to me hehe.

Alissa is nice spelling and its pretty. Ive met 2 alissa's, one was pretty but a bit up her self, and the other was sporty hehe.
Reply:I think Alyssa is a pretty name.

I don't like names like Isabella, Arabella, Annabella, Annabelle, Bella.. although many people seem to like them.
Reply:Nevaeh. It is so over used!

When I chose the name Ava we honestly thought it was a very original name. We felt like once we decided on the name- we were hearing it everywhere! We could have chose a new name but she already felt like an "Ava" to us.
Reply:I personally am not fond of Aiden for a boy. It is too trendy and I don't care for the harshness of the long "a" in the beginning. Also, many "T" girls names are not my favorite. Interesting question!
Reply:i know an alissa and i can't stand her- she's nasty. anyway i don't like the name aiden. i was going to name my son Jaiden but everyone is the world is naming their kid something similar. my son's name is Cohen

The name alissa itself is pretty it just reminds me of that girl

i like the name david but there are so many i know andd it remind mme of a guy i dated
Reply:I'm not a fan of any of the "den" names such as Jayden, Braden, Aiden, etc. I see those names everywhere and I just don't like the way the sound or look written out.
Reply:Aiden, Aidan, Ayden, the like.

Nobody was naming their son Aidan until we decided to name ours Aidyn.

I spelled it that way, so even if there are ten Aidans in his kindergarten class, his will be different.
Reply:Mark/Marcus--there just seems to be too many with this name.

Matthew--for the same reason

Jayden, Jasmine, Jaylen--at this point, these names just seem unoriginal
Reply:I work in a hospital and every second baby boy these days seems to be called 'Jaden'. For me, not only is it just an almost feminine name but it's so tacky to name your child after Britney Spears' son.
Reply:Emily, because everyone i know has that name or their kids have that name its a pretty name but a little to overused in my opinion.
Reply:Seems to me I've been seeing a lot of little Angelina-s and Brad-s these days. ICK! Now I find myself wondering how many people are going to name their kids the same as those two did.
Reply:Oh gosh lol...i dislike Aiden, Brayden, Caden, Jayden, Hayden and anything else that rhymes w/those!!!

I also dislike Grace...that name is just unappealing to me. And Avery....why?! Oh yeah and Neveah....

I actually like the name Alyssa.
Reply:I Like The name Aiden but I think its a little too much when you pick names that ryhme with it. example: Cayden, brayden, jayden, tayden Its REALLY not original!

Edit: alot of people say my daughters name is very popular: Hanna (h) But I dont know one single person with it young or old. AND i only know 1 alyssa and its my sister and she is a darling little girl and i love the name :) I actually didnt know it was popular... shes the only one i know :)
Reply:Brayden... No offense to anybody with a child named this!!!! I just think Aiden is much nicer and Brayden is soo overused now and not even cute in my opinion :(
Reply:Oliver....just dont like it! Seems boring and just not a name for a child!
Reply:nevaeh. everyone is in love it, im over it.
Reply:Kaylie and Ava.
Reply:I hate Brooklynn. Ugh its so gross.
Reply:adeline... it just sounds boring
