Would it bother you if someone stole your wanted baby name?

If you told someone you know what you wanted to call your baby and they used it before you or just after.... would it in anyway annoy you?

Would it bother you if someone stole your wanted baby name?
yes!
Reply:yes it would annoy me, but just depends on who the person is. If its a stranger that i have no clue who they are, no it wouldnt annoy me, but a close friend that knows that i am using the name and then they turn around and use it for themselves, yes, it would annoy me. but it also just depends on far they are and how far i am. and also depends on how many months and years as well. If a close friend wants to use the name, I would like for them to ask me if okay instead of just using the name after i told them what i would name my baby and be shocked and annoyed that they use my baby's name.
Reply:if i was pregnant at the time, yes!

if i was not pregnant and she was, no!

i have a few names in mind for my future baby, i have told people names that i like but i think if i was pregnant i would keep the name a secret until i have the baby. that way i wouldn't have to worry about name stealers or others throwing opinions the name i choose.
Reply:I'd be pretty annoyed if they were a close friend or family member AND lived in the same city as me

If they were a close friend or family member, and I only caught up with them via phone or annual visits then it wouldn't bother me greatly as they and their child wouldn't be around in the physical sense.

Hope that makes sense (it does to me, lol)
Reply:women go through so many names before pregnancy and then once they're pregnant they start name searching from square one. so although it may annoy me for a bit, unless i was pregnant at that same time and was completely set on that name, i wouldn't really care. either way, i wouldn't care, i'd still name my children what i like.
Reply:If it was someone I knew well and still wanted to talk to regularly, yes.

My two names that I picked out are special, but I understand there's probably millions of Alexanders and Georgias out there.

But at the same time, if my good friend named their kids that before I had a chance to, that would irk me.
Reply:Yes it bothers me. I have had it happen twice now,my husbands told me to stop telling people the names we have chose. It wouldn't be so bad if the names were common but they are not so there is no way we can use them now.
Reply:Yes it does bother me... I had a baby boy and named him kaden nikolas then a year later my cousin had a baby boy and named him caden. He must think its ok because he spelled it different but i think its very rude.
Reply:not really reckon if someone would do that means they cant think of any on there own.i no a couple people that did happen to and they was upset but then said o well there will now be to with the same name!
Reply:Yes!

Especially if it was someone close to me and who I'd have alot to do with their children.

I'd probably disown them!!
Reply:Yes that would annoy me, unless I didn't know them too well.
Reply:it's happened to me before. My brother-in-law had his baby before me and took my name.. but now when they call the baby's name it sounds ghetto...lol.. so it's ok!! =)
Reply:prob but it depends how well i knew that person!

if it was a close friends or family member i would be bit annoyed!
Reply:yeah totally
Reply:YES!
Reply:Yes it would, and it's happen to me too!
Reply:yes.but there are so many cute ones... just choose another.
Reply:no they are free to use what ever they want just like me
Reply:yes because i would want my baby to have a name that no one else seems to have. i would be really mad!
