How do you DEFINE these baby name categories?

1. Trendy

2. Modern

3. Classic

4. Classy

5. Tacky

6. Trashy

7. Beautiful/Handsome

8. Fitting

How do you DEFINE these baby name categories?
Trendy: Names that are overused and tacky, that have no real meaning behind them and that have been adapted to suit both boys, girls, or someone's personal tastes by means of spelling and pronounciation. Example: Khole (Chloe)

Modern: Names that are becoming popular with age, names that were not traditionally used back fifty years or so ago. Normally names with appeal that are different without being over the top or adaptions that aren't as dated. Like Jade instead of Jane

Classic: Names that are traditional and (for me) mostly biblical. Names with a classic, elegant feel that were used before putting 'y's in a name randomly made it cool. A strong and masuline name like James or Edward or a feminine name that's doesn't need a pronounciation key like Elizabeth.

Tacky: Names that are awkward for the child and a spin off of something that didn't need to be inhanced. Sometimes I talk names that are variants like Adelyn instead of Adeline and see them as tacky because they're so much more feminine and easy on the ear (not to mention more becoming) when un-modified.

Trashy: Normally this term comes only from association. I'd only consoder a name trashy if I knew a person I considered as such with the given name.

Beautiful/Handsome: Names that a person feels are complimenting and timeless, ones that very depending on your views. For me names that have a classic sound or names that are uncommon but not crazy.

Fitting: Names that people feel are right to name their children. Usually for me this term comes up only if I'm hearing someone talking about naming their baby in honor of someone they've lost. Otherwise I feel children grow to make their names "ft" them.

Reply:1.) Trendy- A name fad that's a hit for a year or so, and then turns out to be hated after that. Ex. Hayden, Jayden, and Isabelle.

2.) Modern- Names that are popular right now and different from the other generations but not a big fad. Ex. Harper, Ryker, Holden, Blaise

3.) Classic- Names that are always in style despite the age. Ex. Emily, Hannah, David, Daniel

4.) Classy- Names that have elegance. Ex. Sofia, Ella, Bella

5.) Tacky- Names that just don't sound very lovely and as if the parents wanted a good laugh. Ex. Lemonjello, Orangello

6.) Trashy- Names that sound too hick! Ex. Dixie, Gunnar

7.) Beautiful/Handsome- Names that are lovely to almost everyone! Ex. Laura, Ashley, Carter, Logan

8.) Fitting- Names that a parent has given to their child based upon their features or actions, sentimental reasons, or ancestral history Ex. Fallin Love (Fall in Love)
Reply:Trendy- I think is somewhat like Modern but what's hot right now..

like Madison and Hunter..

Modern is more along the line of Harlow and Winter I think

Classic is tasteful like Annaliese, Elizabeth

Tacky is inappropriate names that gives you an impression of someone before you meet them like Tempest and Larhonda and shiniqua..

Trashy is basically the samething or if someone named their son Adolf Hitler for instance thats totally trashy.. and disrespectful.

Beautiful is Mary, Michael. Isabella.

Fitting is a mix of names probably or the time of year the baby was born like Ashley and Jacob = AJA or May and April..

That's my take on it although I could be wrong..
