It it normal to name babies before they are born in the mother's stomach?

yes. Picking out names before a baby is on the way is normal. I've known my daughter would be named Carly Alanna since i was 15. plenty of people choose names years before they plan on conceiving :]

I had my Daughters first name pick out at 16, I wanted to call my son Dillon but hubby said not for a first name. ( I was going for a spice theme, Dill , Pepper(my name))
Reply:There is no normal or not normal, parents named their baby how and when they want... but they are not in the stomach !
Reply:My brother in law and sister in law had at least two of their three named before they were married. She was pregnant with #3 on their wedding day.
Reply:Yes it is absolutely normal to name your children before they are born!! Not only were my children's name picked out before birth, but many families make naming the new addition a lot of fun, especially for the older siblings(if there are older siblings) also this is a great time to research your family tree to see if there is a particular name that was once handed down in your family.
Reply:Both my doughtier and my son were named before we

were married.
Reply:its absolutely normal to name babies before they are born.i already have a name for baby boy when i get one in future.go for it.
Reply:I think so. I have allready been picking out names and how I am going to decorate the baby room and I am not pregnant yet but trying. :)
Reply:G'day - Yes, absolutely.

We were on a holiday in 2000 to a place called Lucca in Italy and decided if we had a boy we would name him Luca after this place and Devon after my dad's birthplace, which we were also lucky enough to visit on our travels at that time.

In 2002, Luca Devon was born and you can see his photo just up there on the left - holding a footy (Aussie Rules).

Good luck!
Reply:It's not that it's "normal" or "abnormal", but it's done quite often, especially when the sex of the baby is already known. In some cases, the parents-to-be have a name for a girl and a boy, not knowing what they are having.

We chose our children's names while they were inutero. With my son, we didn't know what we were having, so we had a couple of names in mind. With our daughter, we knew... and we had chosen the perfect name for her. :)
